Tattoo ink

The best tattoo artists mix their own tattoo ink. These inks consist of pigments and a solution. Some pigments are vegetable dyes and others are metal salts. Some pigments are plastic.

The pigment is the color of the tattoo ink that is used to make a certain part of the tattoo. Many colors can be used on one specific design. Or a customer may choose to have a black tattoo that is absent of all other colors.

Tattoo inks are generally safe for the skin. However, some people may experience chemical or allergic reactions to inks. It is best to use caution when getting a tattoo.
